This is the last Will and Testament of me William Smith of Hanslopp in the County of Bucks Mason which I make in manner following (that is to say)   ffirst I will and direct that all my legal Debts and funeral Expences shall be fully paid and discharged   Next I Give and bequeath unto my dear and loving Wife Ann Smith All and singular my Household Goods furniture linen China Plate and Wearing apparel ready money and securities for money which I shall be possessed of or intitled to at the time of my decease   Next I Give and devise unto my Grandson William Smith and my friend Edward Price All those my three Cottages or Tenements with the gardens and appurtenances thereto belonging situate and being in Longstreet in Hanslopp aforesaid and now in the several occupations of Joseph Key Sarah Garrett and John Stone To Hold the same with their and every of their Appurtenances unto them the said William Smith and Edward Price their Heirs and assigns Upon special trust and confidence that they my said trustees or the survivor of them or the Heirs of such survivor do and shall with all convenient speed after my decease make sale and dispose of the same Cottages or Tenements Gardens and Appurtenances for as much money as can be reasonably gotten for the same and after deducting and retaining to themselves and himself out of the monies arising thereby all Costs attending such sale do and shall out of the residue of the monies pay and discharge all my legal debts and funeral Expences and if any surplus of the said monies shall then remain do and shall pay all such surplus money unto my said Wife Ann Smith for her own sole use and benefit   And whereas by virtue of a settlement made on my Marriage with the said Ann my Wife the Cottage or Tenement wherein I now dwell with the Garden and Appurtenances thereto belonging in Longstreet aforesaid stands limitted and assured (after the decease of the said Ann my Wife and myself without leaving Issue by her) to my Own right Heirs Now I do hereby after the decease of my said Wife give and devise my said last mentioned Cottage or Tenement with the Appurtenances unto my said trustees the said William Smith and Edward Price and their Heirs Upon trust that they my said trustees or the survivors of them or the Heirs or Assigns of such survivor do and shall immediately after the decease of my said Wife sell and dispose of my said last mentioned Cottage or Tenement with the Appurtenances for as much money as can be gotten for the same and after deducting and retaining all Costs and charges attending such sale do and shall divide and pay the clear surplus monies unto amongst and between my Grandchildren Elizabeth the wife of           Gold Charlotte Smith and the said William Smith (the Children of my late son William Smith deceased) Richard Smith the son of my son James Smith and Joseph Key and Mary Smith Key (the Children of my late Daughter Mary Key deceased) equally share and share alike And I do hereby Will and direct that the receipt or receipts of my said trustees or the survivor of them or the Heirs or Assigns of such survivor shall be a good discharge to the purchaser or purchasers of my said Cottage or Tenement and premises above mentioned and every part thereof for so much money as shall be therein expressed to be received and that after such receipt or receipts the purchaser or purchasers of my said Cottages or Tenements or any part thereof shall be absolutely discharged therefrom and shall not afterwards be answerable for the application or nonapplication thereof And that they my said trustees shall be answerable only for their own respective acts receipts neglects or defaults and not the one for the other of them   And Lastly I do Hereby nominate and appoint my said Wife Ann Smith sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and so revoking all former and other Wills I do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the seventh day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Ninety three – The mark of the said William Smith the testator (LS) Signed sealed published and declared by the said William Smith the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have attested the same in the presence of each other – John Richards - John Gray - George Cooch
