This is the last Will and Testament of me Catherine Smith of Hanslope in the County of Bucks Widow   First I direct all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expences to be paid and discharged   I Give and Bequeath all my household furniture linen and other household Effects Save and accept my Brewing Utensils and Stock in Trade unto my two Daughters Sarah and Elizabeth equally to be divided between them share and share alike I Give and Bequeath all my right and interest in the Goods and Effects in the House occupied by my Daughter Louisa Aldridge Widow and in the Slaughter house now used for the purpose of carrying on the Trade of a Butcher to my said Daughter Louisa absolutely To the intent that she may be enabled to continue that Trade for her support and maintenance   Next I direct that my Brewing Utensils and Stock in Trade shall as soon as conveniently may be after my decease be valued and that my said Daughters Sarah and Elizabeth shall and may have the use hereof to carry on the Business of an Inn at the House wherein I now live so long as they shall agree so to do but in case they shall be desirous of disposing of the same or either of my said three Daughters shall be desirous of receiving her share of and in the same by virtue of the Bequest hereinafter contained then I direct that the same shall be sold and the produce equally divided between my said three Daughters Louisa Sarah and Elizabeth equally share and share alike Provided always and I do hereby direct that in case my said Daughter Louisa shall not be able to carry on the Business of a Butcher advantageously and my said Daughters Sarah and Elizabeth shall be carrying on the Business of the Inn that she my said Daughter Louisa shall be entitled to live with them so long as they carry on the same Business together And I give devise and bequeath all the rest and residue of my personal Estate and all my Real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto and to the use of my said Daughters Louisa Sarah and Elizabeth their heirs executors administrators and assigns according to the nature and tenure thereof respectively equally to be divided between them share and share alike And I nominate and appoint my said Daughter Sarah and my Friend Charles Crick of Hanslope aforesaid Baker Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Catherine Smith the Testatrix have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eighth day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty six – Catharine Smith (LS) Signed sealed published and Declared by the said Catherine Smith the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in here presence at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our Names at Witnesses
