In the Name of God Amen I Rebecca Shephard of Hanslop in the County of Bucks Victualler being Weak of Body but of sound and Perfect mind and memory (Blessed be God) Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament This Twenty Eighth Day of May in the Sixteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign King George the Second And in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and fforty three In manner following (that is to say)   Imprimis I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Thomas Cooke Three Pounds   Item I Give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Harman Three Pounds Ten Shillings   Item I Give unto Grandson Edward Allum Three Pounds Ten Shillings All to be of Good and Lawfull Money of Great Brittain to be paid by my Executor hereinafter Mentioned in Six Months time after my decease   And my Will and Meaning is that if my Grandson Edward Allum should die without any Issue that the above mentioned Sums which is Given to Edward Allum shall be repaid back again By his Survivor and be Given unto my daughters Elizabeth Harman and Mary Harraway or to their heirs share and share alike   Item I further Give unto My Daughter Elizabeth Harman the bed and Bedding in the first Chamber with the Drawer in the other Chamber with the Table belonging to it with the Corner Cupboard and Chest of Drawers in the parlour and the Great Kettle and Least pottage pot and two pewter Dishes in the House   Item All the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattells and Personal Estate Whatsoever and Wheresoever with all my Debts and Demands whatsoever and Wheresoever I shall die possessed of  I Give unto my Son Lawrence Harraway Whom I make Ordain and Constitute my Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament My Executor burying of me in a decent and Christian like Manner In Witness whereof I the said Rebecca Shepherd have set my hand and Seal to this my last Will and Testament the Day and Date above written The Marke of Rebecca Shepherd Signed Sealed and Delivered by the Testator in the presence of us Christopher Harris Mary Brealey   The Mark of Sarah Cook

Transcriber's note: The year of probate on the copy appears to be 1748, but the copy is bound in a book of wills from 1743, which is more likely to be the correct date.  1743 is also consistent with the Church register where her burial is recorded on 4 April 1743.

However, this raises another issue, as the date of the will recorded above is after the date of her death!  There is clearly some inconsistency in the recording of dates here.
