In the Name of God Amen I John Richards of Hanslope in the County of Bucks Yeoman being infirm in Body but of sound disposing mind memory and understanding blessed be God do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say   First and principally I commend my Soul to God who gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executor hereinafter named (my just Debts and Funeral Expences being first paid and Satisfyed)   I give and dispose thereof as followeth that is to say I give and devise and bequeath to my Son William Richards one shilling   All the rest residue and Remainder of  my Estate Real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever I give devise and bequeath the same to my Son John Richards during his life and after his decease I give devise and bequeath to my Grandson William Richards Son of my Son William Richards all my real Estates to him and his Heirs and Assigns forever   I give devise and bequeath to my Daughter Ann Richards Wife of my Son John Richards if she survives her husband that House I now dwell in during her life if she keeps a Widow I   Also give devise and bequeath to her four pounds a Year of lawful money of Great Brittain during her life to be paid to her every Year by my Grandson William Richards aforesaid   my Son John  Richards shall not cut nor cause to be cut down any Timber upon my Estate only for repairs   I Also constitute and Appoint my said Son John Richards sole Executor of this my last Will hereby revoking and making void all former Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said John Richards have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the twelveth day of November in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and seventy four – John Richards his mark (LS) Signed Sealed published and declared by the said John Richards the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereto – Joseph Barker John Brice -  his mark – Joseph Smith
