In the Name of God Amen I Henry Pope of Hanslope in the County of Bucks  (Butler to John How Esquire) being in health of Body and of Sound and Disposing Mind Memory and Understanding praised be Almighty God for the same  Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say First I order all my Just Debts to be fully paid and satisfied Next I Give and bequeath unto my ffellow Servant William Saxby the sum of Ten pounds of Good and lawful money of Great Brittain and make him Trustee and Executor of this my Will   Next I Give and bequeath unto George Dory and Kitty T….    two other ffellow Servants the sum of ffive pounds apiece of like lawful money of Great Britain and unto Thomas Coe [sic] James ffranklin and William Adams three other ffellow Servants I Give and bequeath unto each of them the sum of One Guinea And Lastly As to all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Ready Moneys and Securitys for Money and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever  and of what nature sort or kindsoever I Give and Bequeath the same unto my Brother John Pope and unto all and every my Nephews and Nieces Sons and Daughters of my Brothers and Sisters that shall be living at the time of my Decease and to their Executors and Administrators And my Mind and Will is that the same be equally Divided between and amongst them all by my Executor in equal proportions Share and Share alike  All which Legacies above by me bequeathed I Will and Direct shall be paid by my said Executor within six months next after my Decease after Deducting all such costs charges Damages and Expenses whatsoever which my said Trustee and Executor his heirs Executors or Administrators shall reasonably be at or put unto in the Management or Execution of this my Will or the Trusts hereby in him Reposed And Whereas I have a very Great Dislike to being Buried in any part of the City of London my Will and Desire in particular is that if [it]should please God I should happen to Dye in London I do hereby earnestly desire and Request my said Executor or his Successors in the Execution of this my Will not to Bury  in London  but in some other place near it in a Decent manner at his discretion and in what parish he shall think proper and I do hereby Nominate Constitute and Appoint my said ffellow Servant the said William Saxby full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking Disannulling and making Void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made And I do Declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Henry Pope the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal this Eighteenth Day of December in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and sixty five  The mark of Henry Pope Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Henry Pope the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses hereto at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other  Richard Patch John Tatham
