In the Name of God Amen.
I Richard Miles of Hanslopp in the County of Bucks Lace Merchant being sick and weak in Body but of sound mind memory and understanding (praise be given to almighty God for the same) do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) ffirst I give and devise unto my loving Wife Mary all and every my Messuages Cottages Lands Tenaments and Hereditaments in Great Woolston in the said County of Bucks To hold to her my said Wife Mary and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life she making no waste and from and after my decease I give and the same unto my Son John Miles and his heirs for ever subject nevertheless and chargeable with the payment of the summe of three hundred pounds apeice unto my daughters ffrances and Sarah Miles at their respective ages of one and twenty years  Next also I give and devise unto my said Wife Mary for and during them term of her naturall life all that my Messuage Cottage or Tenement and premisses with the appurtenances wherein I now dwell situate and being in Hanslopp aforesaid and I do also give and bequeath unto my said Wife Mary all and every my household goods coals and firewood which shall at the time of my decease be in or about my said cottage or Tenement out houses and premisses (except the Leaden pump, the copper in my Brewhouse, the Stone sink with the Leaden cistern and pipes in the kitchen and the other things that be fixt to the ffreehold of my said dwelling house  Next I give and devise unto my Son Joseph Miles all and every my Messuages Cottages ffarm Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in Dunsanger in the County of Northampton To hold to him my said Son Joseph Miles and his Heirs for ever provided always and upon this condition that he my said Son Joseph Miles his Heirs or assigns do and shall within four years next after my decease pay or cause to be paid into my Son Humphry Miles his executors administrators or assigns the summe of two hundred pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain and my mind and Will is and I do hereby order or direct that he my said son Humphry his executors administrators or assigns do and shall put and place the said Summe of two hundred pounds out at Interest on Government or other Securities and settle the same to and upon all and every the child and children of my daughter Elizabeth the Wife of William Miller to equally divided between them share and share alike  Next I will that my said son Humphry Miles and his Heirs do and shall weekly for ever lay out in Bread two shillings and that he and they shall distribute the same to and amongst twelve poor Widows of the parish of Hanslopp aforesaid as he or they shall think the greatest objects of charity and I do hereby subject and charge the Messuage or tenement Close of pasture Grounds and premises in Hanslopp aforesaid which I lately purchased of John Dennis with the payment of the same  Next I give and bequeath unto my daughters Ann Miles, Ruth Miles and Jemima Miles the summe of five hundred pounds apeice of Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid by my Executor herein after named at the attainment of their respective ages of one and twenty years and I do further give and bequeath unto my said daughters ffrances and Sarah Miles the further Summe of two hundred pounds apiece of like lawfull money to be paid at their attainment of their respective ages of one and twenty years and my mind and Will is and I do hereby declare that if any or either of my said daughters Ann Ruth Jemima ffrances and Sarah shall happen to dye before her or their Legacy or Legacies portion or portions shall become due and payable I will and direct that the Legacy or Legacies portion or portions of her them or any of them so dying shall go and be equally divided between the survivors and survivor of them share and share alike  Next I will order direct and appoint that my Executor herein after named do and shall yearly and every year expend lay out or pay ten pounds to for and towards the maintenance Education and bringing up each of my said daughters Ann Ruth Jemima ffrances and Sarah untill they shall severally attain their respective ages of one and twenty years  Next I give and bequeath unto my Son William Miles for and during the terme of his naturall life one annuity or yearly rent charge of thirty five pounds a year free and clear of all taxes and deductions whatsoever to be issuing and payable out of my Messuages Cottages and Tenements and Hereditaments in Hanslopp aforesaid which said annuity or rent charge of thirty five pounds a year I will shall be paid unto my said Son William Miles at the two most usuall feast or days of payment in the year (that is to say) at the ffeast of annunciation of the blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Michael the archangel the first payment thereof to begin and be made at such of the said ffeasts as shall first and next happen after my decease  Next I give and devise unto my said Son Humphry Miles all and every my Messuages Cottages Land Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever (subject to the Estate and several charges above mentioned) to hold to my said son Humphry Miles for and during the term of his naturall life and from and after his decease then to the use and behoofe of the first son of my said son Humphry Miles and the Heirs Male of his Body lawfully begotton or to be gotten and for default of such Issue then to the use and behoofe of the second third fourth and fifth and all and every other the son and sons of my said Son Humphry Miles lawfully begotton or to be begotten the elder of such son and sons and the Heirs Male of his Body lawfully Issuing always to be preferred before the Heirs Males of such younger son and the Heirs Male of his body and for default of such Issue then to the use and behoofe of my son William Miles for and during the term of his naturall life and from and after his decease then to the use of the Heirs Male of his Body in such manner as I have limitted the same to my son Humphry Miles and for default of such Issue then to the use and behoofe of my said son John Miles for and during the term of his naturall life and from and after his decease then to the use of the Heirs Male of his Body lawfully issuing in such manner as I have limitted the same to my said Son Humphry Miles and for default of such Issue then to the use of my said son Joseph Miles and the Heirs Male of his Body lawfully Issuing in such manner as I have above limitted the same and for default of such Issue to my own Right Heirs forever  Next I give to my daughter Mary Perry one shilling  Next I give to my Grand Children Mary Perry, James Perry, William Perry, Richard Perry, Sarah Perry, Rose Miles Perry, Humphry Perry and Comfort Perry twenty pounds apeice to be paid them by my Executor at their attainment of their respective ages of one and twenty years and if any of my said Grand Children shall dye before his of their share shall become payable I will the same shall be divided between the survivors share and share alike and my mind and Will is that said son John Miles shall pay unto my Executor the summe of one hundred and forty pounds for the stock of my ffarm at Great Woolston and my Wife halfe a years rent of the ffarm at Woolston all the rest residue and remainder of my Messuages Cottages Lands Tenaments Hereditaments Goods Chattels Reall and personall Estate whatsoever (after payment of my debts Legacies and funerall expenses I give and devise unto my son Humphry Miles his Heirs Executors and administrators and my mind and Will is that if my said Wife shall refuse to accept of the Legacy or Legacies above by me given to her in full Liew of her Joiner and thirds that then I will that the same shall be voids and that she shall receive no benefit by virtue of any devise in this my Will (and Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Son Humphry Miles sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke disannul and make void all former and other Wills by me heretofore made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Richard Miles the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament put my hand and seal this five and twentyeth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty six.  Richard Miles.  Signed sealed published This Will was proved at London the seventeenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty six before the Worshipfull William Straham Doctor of Laws and surrogate to the Worshipfull John Bettesworth also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper ___ issary of the prorogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Humphry Miles sole Executor named in the said Will to whom administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the deceased was granted being first sworne duly to administer.
