In the Name of God Amen I James Manning of Hanslope in the County of Bucks Butcher being weak in Body but of sound disposing mind memory and understanding (blessed be God) Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)   First and principally I commend my Soul to God who gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executrix herein after named   In the first place I will that all my just Debts and Funeral Expences be paid and satisfied And after that I give devise and bequeath to my tender Affectionate Mother Mary Manning a Home at my late Dwelling House in Hanslope aforesaid with all Necessarys of Life such as Meat Drink Washing and Lodging during her life if she keeps herself unmarried to be provided by my Executrix I also give devise and bequeath to my Brother John Manning the sum of five pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid by my Executrix twelve months and one day after my decease I also give devise and bequeath to my Sister Ann Manning the sum of five pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid by my Executrix twelve Months and one day after my decease All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever lying and being with all my ready Money Securities for Money and whatsoever I shall dye possessed of I give devise and bequeath the same to my loving wife Elizabeth Manning to her and her Heirs and Assigns for ever I Also nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife Elizabeth Manning sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all other Will or Wills heretofore made by me and allow this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said James Manning have hereunto set my hand and seal the twentieth of November and in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy – James Manning – his Mark – Signed Sealed published and declared by the said James Manning the Testator and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereto – Dennis Panter – Mary Crick her Mark   Joseph Smith
