In the Name of God Amen I John Gurney of Hanslop in the County of Bucks Peruke maker being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding but considering the uncertainty of life Do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)   First All that Messuage or Tenement Homestead Yard and Garden with the several Buildings thereon Erected or Built containing twenty six perches (be the same more or less) together with the Garden thereto adjoining situate standing being and adjoining to a certain Lane or Street commonly called Gold Street in Hanslop aforesaid And also all that part of that Close of pastures or inclosed pasture Ground commonly called or known by the name of the Styeks as the same is now divided and inclosed situate and being in Hanslop aforesaid adjoining on the south side thereof to a Green commonly called Blogs Green And also all that Close of pasture or Inclosed pasture Ground commonly called the Pightle situate in Hanslop aforesaid which said two Closes or Inclosed pasture Ground I had in exchange with Henry Lowndes Esquire for and in Lieu of a Close or inclosed Ground in Hanslop aforesaid b Virtue of an Act of Parliament made and passed in the Eighteenth Year of the Reign of his present Majesty Intitled an Act for dividing and Inclosing the open and Common Fields Common pastures and Common Meadows within the Parish of Hanslop in the County of Buckingham aforesaid All which the above mentioned Messuage or Tenement Garden Closes of pasture or inclosed pasture Grounds Hereditaments with premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging I Give devise and bequeath unto my Loving Wife Martha for and during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after the decease of my said Wife then I do hereby Give and devise all and every the above mentioned Messuage or Tenement Closes or Inclosed Grounds and premises unto my Daughter Ann and to her Heirs for ever Also I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Ann the sum of One Hundred Pounds to be paid to her out of my personal Estate by my Executrix within twelve calendar months next after my decease Also all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Debts Monies and securities for money Leases Effects and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or sort soever I Give devise and bequeath the same unto my said Loving Wife Martha her Executors and administrators To and for her and their own use and benefit she and they thereout paying all my just debts and the aforesaid pecuniary Legacy Also I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Loving Wife Martha Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making Void all former and other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made and I do declare this alone to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said John Gurney the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this fourth day of July in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty one – John Gurney – Signed sealed published and declared by the above named John Gurney the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in our presence and attested and subscribed in his presence and in the presence of each other – by us  Amos ChinnerJohn GoodmanThomas Grammer
