This is the last Will and Testament of me Joseph Atterbury of  Hanslope in the County of Bucks Yeoman which I make in the following manner (that is to say) I give and devise to my eldest Son Henry Atterbury ten pounds of Lawful money of England to be paid him within twelve months next after my decease and I give the following Legacies to my other Children (that is to say)  To John Atterbury my second Son ffive pounds of like Lawful money to be paid him within twelve months next after my decease  To Joseph Atterbury my third Son I give one hundred pounds of like Lawful money  To my Daughter Susannah Atterbury I give the sum of two hundred pound and twenty pounds of like Lawful money upon her attainment of the age of twenty ffour years and as much sooner as she shall marry with the approbation of my Wife and ffriend Thomas Adams and I also give her my said Daughter my Tent Bed and ffurniture and my best Tea Table and my Silver pint mug  and I give and bequeath unto my dear Wife Martha for and during the term of her Natural Life all the articles of household ffurniture which she brought me upon our Marriage with full power to dispose of the same to and amongst all or any of my Children in such way as she shall think proper  I also give unto my said Wife ffifty pounds of Lawful money of England and all the rest and residue of my household ffurniture Linen China and plate and also all my ffarming Stock Implements of Husbandry ready money Securities for money and personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever subject to the payment of my legal Debts Legacies and ffuneral expenses  I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof to be equally enjoyed by my said Wife and my youngest Son William until he shall attain the age of twenty ffive years when I will and direct that he shall be put into ffull possession of the whole residue of my said  personalty together with all savings in the mean time at which period I do hereby give and bequeath the same to him accordingly but subject nevertheless to and charges and chargeable with the payment of thirty pounds a year to my said Wife Martha by equal half yearly payments at Lady Day and Michaelmas and I direct that the first payment shall be made on such of the said times of payment as shall next happen after my decease and I desire that my said youngest Son will give such security to my said Wife for the due and regular payment of the said annuity as she and my said ffriend Thomas Adams shall reasonably desire and I request that the said Thomas Adams will assist my said Wife and Son with his advice in the  management of my said ffarm and in the payment of my Debts and Legacies and if my said Son William Atterbury shall happen to depart this Life before he shall become possessed of the whole residue of my said personal Estate leaving no Wife or Children or having married without the Consent and approbation of my said Wife and said ffriend Thomas Adams therefrom and immediately after his decease (not being in full possession as aforesaid) I give all the said residue of my said personal Estate to and amongst all other my surviving Children share and share alike but subject nevertheless to and Charges and Chargeable with the payment of the aforesaid thirty pounds a year to my said Wife for her life as is before mentioned and for securing the due and regular payment of the said thirty pounds a year to my said Wife by equal half yearly payments as the same shall become due I do hereby direct that my surviving Executors will set apart six hundred pounds of the said residue and place the same out at Interest in the name of the said Thomas Adams for that particular purpose unless other ample and approved security is given to the good liking of my said Wife for such annuity but in case my said Son William having married with the approbation of my Wife and the said Thomas Adams shall die before he attain the age of twenty ffive years and leave a Wife or Child or Children then she and they shall be entitled to and receive in equal shares all the personal and other property and Effects which are hereby bequeathed to my Son William subject nevertheless to such terms and conditions as they are bequeathed to my said Son and I do hereby appoint my said Wife and Son William and my said ffriend Thomas Adams Joint Executors of this my  Last Will and Testament and revoking all former Wills by me made I declare this only to be my last Will and Testament  In Witness whereof I the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal the Seventeenth day of August in the year one thousand Eight hundred and Eight – Joseph Atterbury (LS) Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Joseph Atterbury the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have attested the same in the presence of each other John Holloway  Joseph Mayhew William Singleton
