In the Name of God Amen I John Alsop of the Parrish of Hanslop in the County of Bucks being verry sick but in perfect Memory thanks be given to God Knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die   Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say First of all I recommend my Soul to God who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in Christian Burial and as touching my worldly affairs wich it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form First I give and bequeath to my beloved Daughter in Law Ann Akes my best Bed and all belonging to it and to my Sister Mary Gregory One Pair of Blankets and to my Sister Sarah Burbidge One Blanket and to my Nephew John Burbidge All my Wearing Aparrel and to Thomas Alsop my Clock and to my Niece Hannah Smith One Pair of Blankets and to my Niece Mary Alsop Six Tea Spoons and to my Niece Alley Meadows One Table Spoon and to Thomas Shrieve my Gun and to my Nephew William Gregory three Chairs and to my Daughter Ann Akes One Tea table and last of all I give to my beloved Wife Dianna Alsop (whom I make and ordain my sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament) Two Cottages in Kingston Lane in the Parrish of Hanslop in the County of Bucks to be  sold for the payment of Debts and the expence of my Funeral In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this sixth day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fourteen  John Alsop (LS) Signed seald and delivered by the said John Alsop in the presence of us Elizabeth Srieves William Allin – X the mark of Sarah Mills
