This is the last Will and Testament of me John Adams of Hanslope in the County of Buckingham Farmer   First I direct that all my just Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expenses be fully paid and satisfied by my Executor hereinafter named   Also I give and bequeath unto my Brother in Law Charles Longstaff of Road in the County of Northampton Yeoman his executors and administrators All my Household Goods Household Furniture Plate Linen and China and all and singular my Money and Securities for Money and all other my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kindsoever the same may consist and which I may be possessed of at the time of my decease Upon the Trusts following (that is to say) Upon Trust that he the said Charles Longstaff his executors or administrators do and shall with all convenient  speed next after my decease collect get in and receive such part thereof as shall consist of Money or Securities for Money and do and shall convert into money such part thereof as shall not consist of Money or Securities for Money and do and shall within twelve Calendar Months next after my decease pay and transfer one moiety or equal half part of all such Monies so to arise and be received as aforesaid unto my Wife Mary Adams to and for her own use and benefit And I will and direct my said Trustee his executors or administrators to place out and invest the other moiety or remaining equal half part of the Monies so to arise and be received as aforesaid in his or their own name or names in the Public Stocks or Funds or in Government or real Securities at Interest and do and shall stand and be possessed of and interested in such Stocks Funds and Securities so to be placed out as aforesaid upon the several Trusts and to and for the several ends intents and purposes and with under and subject to the several powers and provisoes hereinafter expressed and declared of and concerning the same (that is to say) Upon Trust that he my said Trustee his Executors or administrators do and shall pay transfer and assign the Said Stocks Funds and Securities unto my Son Charles Adams as and when he shall attain his age of twenty one years Provided nevertheless and I do hereby expressly declare that in case my said Son shall die under the age of twenty one years and shall leave issue of his body lawfully begotten then my Will is that such Issue shall have and be entitled to the whole of the said Stocks Funds and Securities and which I direct to be transferred to such issue in equal proportions if more than one at his her or their age or respective ages of twenty one years And upon further Trust that he my said Trustee his executors or administrators do and shall in the meantime and until my said Son Charles Adams shall attain his age of twenty one years pay and apply the Dividends Interest and annual proceeds of the said Stocks Funds and Securities so directed to be placed out as aforesaid in or towards the maintenance and education of my said Son until he attains his said age of twenty one years until which period it is my Will that my said Wife Mary Adams (if she shall so long live and continue my Widow) shall have and be entrusted with the maintenance education and control of my said Son and shall receive from my said Trustee or Trustees for the time being such Dividends Interests and proceeds for the purpose of enabling her to undertake carry on and defray the expenses of the same Provided further and I do hereby authorize and empower my said Trustee or Trustees for the time being to pay apply and advance a part of the said Stocks Funds and Securities so directed to be invested as aforesaid unto my said Son or (in case of the death of my said Son before attaining his age of twenty one years) unto his issue lawfully to be begotten as aforesaid in or towards his her or their preferment in life or advancement in the World to such amount and in such manner as they my said Trustee or Trustees shall in his her or their discretion deem advisable or expedient Provided also and I do hereby direct my said Trustee or Trustees for the time being in the event of my said Son dying under age and without leaving lawful issue him surviving who shall live to attain the age of twenty one years immediately upon his decease without leaving lawful Issue as aforesaid or in case of his leaving lawful Issue immediately upon the decease of the last surviving Child to pay and assign and transfer all such Trust Monies Stocks Funds and Securities unto my said Wife Mary Adams if she shall be then living or in case she shall be then dead unto my nearest of kin in the same manner and proportions as the same would pass and be distributed by the Statute for distribution of Intestates Estates And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my Brother in Law the said Charles Longstaff sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament And I do appoint my said Wife so long as she shall continue my Widow and from and after the decease or second marriage of my said Wife I do appoint the said Charles Longstaff Guardian of my said Son during his Minority And I do authorize and empower my said Executor to deduct retain to or otherwise reimburse himself all such costs charges and expenses as he shall incur sustain or be put unto in and about the execution of this my Will And I do further declare that my said Trustee or Trustees or either of them their or either of their heirs executors or administrators shall not be charged or chargeable with or accountable for any more of the Trust Monies and premises than they shall respectively actually receive or shall come to their respective hands by virtue of this my Will nor with or for any loss which shall or may happen without their wilful neglect or default And revoking all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made I do declare this present writing to be and contain my only true last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said John Adams the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty three
